Baby carriers vary across Indigenous nations and communities, each reflecting distinct traditions, materials, and ways of carrying children. It can be difficult to fully capture and appreciate the differences between them, especially when each carrier also holds the marks of individual use and care. Through this study, I want to draw attention to both the regional distinctions and the individual character of each carrier. These details are more than practical; they are part of the visual and material traditions through which families care for their children and pass knowledge between generations.
